Betty Rossi Kipp, born in Daytona Beach, died March 6, 2013, following in her husband's footsteps. Betty attended Holly Hill School and graduated salutatorian from Daytona High School class of 1940. After high school, she worked for the church and the YWCA where she met Gordon Kipp, her husband of 61 years. Raising four children with Gordon, Betty worked as a school secretary , retiring in 1988. After retirement, they took trips to the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge as faithful birding enthusiasts. Betty also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, providing expert trivia information, going out to dinner, and watching her grandchildren grow up. Betty accompanied Gordon to Rotary meetings on many early Tuesday mornings. Thus, she became an Honorary Rotarian and earned a Paul Harris Fellow award. Also preceding her in death was her oldest son Michael Kipp. Betty leaves behind a brother Charles and his wife Lillian and family of Cataula, Georgia. Her remaining children include Cathy Boyle, Oak Hill; Patty and husband Don Bacha of Holly Hill; and Jack and Margaret Kipp of Austin, Texas. Betty had three grandchildren Shawn Kipp, Keith Bacha, and Kyle Bacha and his wife Robin. Great grandchildren Noah and Liam Bacha also are part of her legacy. One of the most thoughtful people we knew, Betty remembered birthdays, anniversaries and special events for the people who loved her.
