Becky "Darlene" Manning Gassett, 61, of Ormond Beach, passed away on Saturday July 12, 2014 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. Darlene was born in Daytona Beach, Florida
on September 23, 1952 to the late Joseph C. Manning, Jr. and Betty Manning Hall. She loved spending her time playing darts and billiards at the VFW post 1590 in Daytona Beach. She was awarded two presidential service awards for her volunteer service with Southeastern Guide Dogs of which she absolutely loved being a puppy raiser. She was employed as the supervisor of the United States Post Office in Holly Hill for over 24 years. She cherished and enjoyed each and every one of her customers. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday July 19, 2014 at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. A Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Friday July 18, 2014 in the Chapel at Dale Woodward Funeral Home. Survivors include her two sons, JR (Lori) Gassett of New Smyrna Beach and Chance Gassett of Ormond Beach; sister, Diane Patricia Moore of Hawthorne; two brothers, Joseph "Caido" Manning, III of Ormond Beach and James "Allan" (Linda) Manning of Ormond Beach; and a Grandson, Garrett W. Gassett of New Smyrna Beach. Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to Southeastern Guide dogs, 4210 77th St E, Palmetto, FL 34221.
