Bill "Rock" Morgan, age 79, of New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach. Born in Sanford, Mr. Morgan, an insurance executive and captain of the charter boat, Mama's Money II, was a resident of this area all his life. He served as a Deacon for First Baptist Church in New Smyrna Beach, of which he was a lifelong member, was a former member of the Elks Club in New Smyrna Beach, and a member of the Membery Hunt Club. Mr. Morgan enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a very loving family man. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Beverly; two sons, Chuck (Kathy) Morgan, New Smyrna Beach, and Jim (Diane) Morgan, Ormond Beach; one daughter, Judy Morgan, Dallas, Texas; and two grandchildren, Julia and Justin Gregg, both of Dallas. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel, with refreshments to follow.
