E.W. Rick Cougle, 88, retired Captain with American Airlines, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 1:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, FL. He was born July 12, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA. and attended local schools; the Academy of Aeronautics, New York, NY., and the University of Oklahoma. Rick served with the Marine's in the Pacific during World War II and later joined the Air Force. He was employed for 33 years with American Airlines. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Joy; sons, Wayne and Blake Cougle and daughters, Lee (Dick) White and Lyn (Steve) Peattie. Of his 6 siblings, he is survived only by sisters, Marlene (Frank) Carson and Ilene (Walt) Coyle. Grandchildren include, Matthew Lafferty, Darci Salisbury, Jared White, Geoffrey Peattie, Amanda Brunken, Jon Peattie, Aaron Cougle and Brittany Peattie. Also, eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a much beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, all of whom he was so proud. The family request that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Halifax Health Hospice at 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 or http://www.hovf.org.
