Glenn Elwin Stafford, March 23, 1928 to February 16, 2014. "An old man's grandchildren are his crowning glory. A child's glory is his father" Prov.17.6
Glenn Stafford went home to be with our Lord early Sunday morning, due to complications of surgery. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jacqueline D. Stafford; his daughter Kathy & Dwayne Sr. Whittenton; and his son Brian Stafford; six grandchildren: Kristyn & Jay Barbour, Carrie & Mike Baker, Nathanael & Emiley Mitchell, Jason & Nicole Stafford, Dwayne Jr & Amanda Whittenton and Alex Stafford; eight great grandchildren: Tyler, Christian, Jordin & Faith Barbour, Jaxon & Rylan Mitchell, Liam Stafford and Nevaeh Baker.; his brother Gordon & Janet Stafford; niece Ellen & Paul Nelson & family; also two nephews Mikel & Toni and Jimmy & Pamela Sitterly & families. He was currently employed at LPGA and considered them extended family. Before that he was the owner of Circle S Short Stop, where every customer was a friend. He was retired from the General Electric Space Program, still close with many friends from there. Glenn was a veteran of the Korean war. Born and resided in upstate New York, he moved to S. Daytona 50 years ago, where he served as Vice Mayor and Councilman for many years, because it was his desire to make S Daytona a safe and wonderful place for his family and all residents to live. He was a founding member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Port Orange, his church family, where services will be held Thursday, Feb. 20th at 2pm. Please come and help us celebrate this awesome mans life. He is greatly love and missed, but now he is in the arms of our Lord.
