(Gloria) Hazel "Totsy" Johnson, age 85, of DeLand, FL died on June 25, 2014 in DeLand. A native of Atlanta, GA, she resided in Volusia County from 1954-1959 and since 1971. She attended the University of Georgia where she received BBA and MSW degrees. Her 40 year work history in Social Work comprised direct services and administration for various public and private child welfare agencies. Hazel was a strong advocate for children and families in need of help and diligently worked to develop exemplary prevention and treatment programs to serve them. She is survived by nieces Jennifer J. Antrobus, Orange Beach, AL, Susan J. Coltman, Cumming, GA, nephews Henry F. Johnson, Buford, GA, Jeffrey A. Johnson, Cumming, GA and their families, in addition to members of the R. T. Hodges family, the Robert Simmons family, and other dear friends and relatives. The family will have a private memorial service. Memorials may be made to Rock Spring Presbyterian Church, 1824 Piedmont Ave., Atlanta, GA 30324. National Cremation Society.
