- Isaac Newton (Newt) Ryan age 91 went to be with the Lord June 22, 2013. A Funeral service in his honor will be held Wednesday June 26, 2013 at 7 PM at the Lohman Funeral Home Deland. Visitation for Friends will be from the hours of 5:00 PM till 7:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Newt was born October 31, 1921, the 9th child of Luther Erskine Ryan Sr. and Nannie Vaughan Ryan of Lebanon (DeKalb) County Alabama. Newt was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and eight brothers and his first wife of 60 years Virginia Hartline Ryan. Mr. Ryan graduated from Dade County High School and Attended Princeton University. He was a Veteran of World War II and Korea (First Lt) retired from Westing House Nuclear. He and his first wife Volunteered for Red Cross for many years and was a Deacon at Eastside Baptist Church in Deland. He loved his church and would not miss any services, he sang in the choir when he was able. Newt is survived by his wife Ella Faye Conner-Ryan; son, Alan (Debbie) Ryan; daughters Judy Archey, Cheryl (John) Spiller and Debra (Greg) Pasquale; nine grand children 10 great-grandchildren one great-great grand child. In lieu of flowers the family has ask donations to be made in honor of Newt to Hospice of Volusia Flagler, and The Veterans Administration. Condolences for Newt can be shared with the family at
