Joan Apathy 81, of Ormond Beach, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 19th 2013. She was born August 16, 1931 in Cincinnati Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Helen and Lawrence Lauxterman. She attended Indiana University where she met the love of her life Richard Apathy. They were married for 52 years. They lived in Indiana, Illinois and then retired to Ormond Beach, Florida. She was a homemaker, realtor, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the PTA, welcome wagon and women's club. She enjoyed traveling, remodeling homes and playing cards with friends. She was a dedicated and loyal, daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She is survived by her son Larry Apathy; daughter Laura Apathy and daughter Lynda Cross; sister Elaine Seamon. She had seven grandchildren, Melissa, Carolyn, Christina, Heather Cynthia, Curtis and Taylor. She had four great-grandchildren Soren, Aurdrick, Dylan and Elliot. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 21st at 2 pm at the Hunters Ridge Clubhouse, 100 Shadow Crossing Blvd., Ormond Beach. All friends and family are welcome to come to honor and celebrate her life.
