James J. Polito, of South Daytona, passed away Wednesday, February 26. The youngest of seven children, he was born on May 29, 1926 in Lyndhurst, NJ to the late James V. and Geraldine Polito. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Wabash during World War II. Jim was a small business owner of Creative Varityping Service in South Plainfield, NJ. He was an avid hunter and golfer and served as an elder at Pluckemin Presbyterian Church in New Jersey and United Presby terian Church in Daytona Beach. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris, daughters Lynne Dolatowski and Jamie Evans (George), son Tom Polito (Carol), grandchildren Thomas, Sarah and Emily Dolatowski, Lauren and Jenna Evans, and TJ Polito, and his sister, Ginger Conti. A memorial service will be held today (Sat., March 1) at 2:00 p.m. at Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
