James R. "Bob" Parrish, age 79, passed away on March 7, 2014. Before moving to Florida, Bob was a longtime resident of Indiana where he still has family and friends. He retired from GM in Speedway, Indiana. Bob enjoyed fishing, travel, family gatherings, spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching and reading westerns. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines for 22 years as a Gunnery Sergeant and was highly decorated. He received accommodations for sharpshooting, marksmanship, and recognition for his work in communications in Korea, Okinawa, and Vietnam. He was an instrumental member in the organization and starting of the "Toys For Tots" program and was in one of the first commercials of Marines delivering toys. Survivors include four sons, William "Bill", Lloyd and Ronald Parrish and Steve Jackson; two daughters, Nancy June and Teresa Jackson; one brother, Rowland Parrish; two sisters, Patsy Parks and Becky Dabrowski; 15 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
