Mr. James Thomas Burns, 66, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away on April 10, 2014. Born in Paterson, NJ, he served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Campaign. After exiting the service, Mr. Burns found employment as a telecommuni-cations manager, a job which he recently retired from. A lifetime member of the VFW, James became involved with his local chapter, VFW Post #1590, after moving to the area from South Florida. He was a mem
ber of the VFW Honor Guard and also held the position of Vice Commander. Known as a true people person, James enjoyed karaoke, fishing, as well as relaxing and conversing with friends. Mr. Burns leaves behind his wife of 14 years, Belinda; one daughter, Michelle T. Burns, of Midlothian, VA; and one son, Michael T. Burns of Stafford, VA. In addition, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, two brothers, Richard Burns of Orlando, FL, and David Burns, of Cottondale, AL; one sister, Betty Anne Hammett, of Gray, TN; and a multitude of friends that he has made throughout the years. A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2pm, in VFW Post#1590, 1013 Veterans Court, Daytona Beach FL 32114, led by Chaplain Roger Lee Tiffany.
