Joseph Leonard Everidge, 79, New Smyrna Beach, former owner / operator of Kwik Way Food Stores #1 and #2, both in New Smyrna Beach, died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Southeast Volusia Hospice Care Center, Edgewater. Mr. Everidge, who served in the U.S. Coast Guard, was born in Graceville, FL and moved to the area in 1942 from his birthplace. He was a 1955 graduate of Mainland High School, Daytona Beach and a 40 year member of New Smyrna Beach Municipal Golf Course. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary A.; two sons, Bryan of Edgewater and Bruce of New Smyrna Beach; one daughter, Cathy Goodrich of Port Orange; one sister, Voncille Yarbrough of Daytona Beach; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill and two sisters, Lucille Johnson and Willie Ruth Schwartz. Graveside funeral service with military honors will be 11 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater with members of American Legion Post #285, Edgewater, officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Southeast Care Center, 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater, FL 32141.
