Mildred (Mickey) Gilbert Gratz, 86, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 12. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Mickey first moved to Ormond Beach in 1986 and was an active member of the Newcomers Club, New Horizons Club and Christ Presbyterian Church. Originally from Morristown, Tennessee, and a 1943 graduate of Morristown High School, she attended the University of Tennessee, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She worked at the University of Florida while her husband, Bob, was a student there. Mickey had five children and was a loving and devoted stay-at-home mother. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading and traveling. She and Bob, a World War II Air Force veteran, recently celebrated their 67th anniversary. Survivors include her husband, Robert Gratz of Ormond Beach; children: Mike Gratz (San Diego, California), Peggy Gratz Lankford (Atlanta, Georgia), Steve Gratz (Washington, DC), Kelly Gratz (Boulder, Colorado), and Patricia Gratz Shepherd ( Charlotte, North Carolina). Mickey's six grandchildren are Geneva, Tom, Gillian, Kasey, Gavin, and Rylan. Following cremation, Mickey's family will return her to her hometown of Morristown, Tennessee, where funeral services will be held.
