Nancy Hanner Chadbourne went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, Florida after battling ovarian cancer for 7 years. She was born to Burrell G. (Sandy) Hanner and Ruth Atwood Hanner on December 28, 1937 in Stinesville, Indiana. They eventually moved to Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Cannonsburg High School in 1956 and attended Penn State University. She married James H. Johnston in Cannonsburg and had two children, Amy and Wayne. The family lived in Findlay, Ohio, Adrian and Rives Junction, Michigan and Greenville, Texas before moving to Daytona Beach, Florida. Nancy had the Kwik Kopy franchise in Port Orange and Holly Hill for many years. She was President of the Port Orange-South Daytona Chamber of Commerce in 1989-1990 and was also an on-line medical transcriptionist. She met and married Bruce Chadbourne on December 4, 2004. Nancy was an elder at Port Orange Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing with the choir. She loved traveling with her wonderful husband and spending time at Lake Toxaway in North Carolina. She is survived by her husband, her daughter Amy Mazur of Southside, Alabama, son Wayne Johnston of Dallas, Texas, sister Linda Webb (George) of Ellettsville, Indiana, brother Barry (Helga) Hanner of Nurnberg, Germany, grandchildren Samantha and Joshua (Brittany) Mazur, step-son Bruce Jr. (Amy) of Maitland, Florida, step-daughters Lori (Michael) Blubaugh, Prairie Village, Kansas, and Julie Brown of Canton, Georgia. A large group of nieces and nephews gave her great joy over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and previous husband James Johnston. You are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Port Orange Presebyterian Church, 4662 South Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, Florida 32129 with Pastor Calvin H. Gittner, Rev. DMin officiating. Shannon Maloney Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Port Orange Presbyterian Church for the Nancy Chadbourne Memorial Music Fund.
