Robert Cline, 74, of Daytona Beach Shores, FL passed away April 17, 2013. Robert was born on August 27, 1938, in Trenton, NJ, the only child of M. Robert Cline and Doris E Cline. After elementary school he moved to Reno, Nevada until his junior year in high school when he returned to Trenton and graduated from Trenton Central High School. He attended the University of Miami, University of Pennsylvania, University of Maryland and Hofstra University. In 1959 he joined the U.S. Army and served as an airborne medic in the 8th Cavalry in Mannheim, Germany. On August 12, 1961 he married Carol Ann Marra with whom they had three children: Scott K. Cline, Deborah Cline Gayson and Robert J. Cline. Robert served 20 years with the Nassau County Police Department in New York where he attained the rank of Detective Sergeant. In 1986 he and his wife moved to Florida where they lived in Ponce Inlet and Daytona Beach Shores. He has served as Exalted Ruler of the Massapequa Elks Lodge and Governor of the Quiet Birdman, an aviation fraternity. Robert was an avid SCUBA diver, flight instructor who flew his Ryan L-17 Navion in numerous air shows throughout Florida and was an amateur radio operator WbZngz. Besides his wife Carol and their three children he is survived by seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. Funeral service will follow Sunday at 4 PM.
