Robert passed away June 13, 2014 after a lengthy illness at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House with family at his side. He was married to his wife, Sunny Joan, for 58 years. The family moved to Bunnell 41 years ago following Robert's retirement from the U.S. Air Force as a Technical Sergeant after 21 years' service with combat during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. He subsequently served 17 years and retired from Flagler County government as the Veterans Service Officer and Emergency Management Director. Robert was a past Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge 400, past Post Commander of VFW Post 5213 and past Chapter Commander of DAV Chapter 86. He was survived by his wife, Sunny Joan, two sons, Robert Dale and (wife) Marcella of Brindisi, Italy, and Richard Scott and (wife) Susan of Palatka, Florida; two grandsons, Eric Dale and Caleb James; and numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces of Missouri, Florida, Michigan, Washington and West Virginia. During the last few months of his life, Robert was blessed with the compassionate love and care of Duane and Kimberle Weeks, and Jacque Thomas. By his own request, no viewing or funeral will be held. Robert will be interned by immediate family at the Marshall Cemetery, Caulfield, Missouri.
