Robert "Jack" Cowan Jackson, Jr. of Ormond Beach, FL passed away on December 24, 2013. Jack was born June 26, 1949 in Maryville, Tennessee to Mary Elisabeth Jackson and the late Robert Cowan Jackson. He attended Maryville High School (Class of '67), and he was a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy (Class of '71). He was honorably discharged in 1976 after attaining a rank of Captain, and he went on to earn an MBA from Central Michigan University. He began his professional career in banking before moving his family down to Ormond Beach in the early 1980s to open several franchise restaurants. Jack would go on to spend time practicing property management in Atlanta and Charlotte before settling in Summerville, SC where he owned and operated a commercial paint contracting company. He retired in 2012 and returned to Ormond Beach to be near his children. Jack was a proud patriot. He had served as President for South Carolina Fairtax organization, and he donated countless hours to the Volusia County Republican Party during the presidential election of 2012. He was a wonderful cook, enjoyed reading, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and rooting for University of Tennessee football. He loved NASCAR racing, and in 2003 he drove his Chevy Nova to a track championship at the Summerville Speedway. He is survived by his two children, Martin Jackson and Lauri Stockman, his mother, Mary E. Jackson, his three sisters: Francis (Fran) Jackson, Nancy Jackson, and Peggy Jackson, and his brother Dr. William Andrew (Andy) Jackson. A memorial service is to be held Sat., Jan 4, 2014 at 3:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Maryville, 804 Montvale Station Rd, Maryville, Tennessee.
