Robert John De Temple

Robert John De Temple of Palm Coast, FL was born in Marinette, WI on December 31, 1923 to John De Temple and Mary Bohman De Temple and was the youngest of eight children. He passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013. After graduating from Marinette High School he attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison for one year with a double scholarship in academics and sports. He transferred to Annapolis Naval Academy and received a degree in Electrical Engineering during an accelerated 3 year program due to the war time demands, graduating in the class of 1945. He served for 30 months in active duty in the Navy in the pacific. He then resigned to obtain a position as Industrial Engineer at Ansul Chemical Company in Marinette, WI. After 4 years he was called back to active duty to serve as full lieutenant for 30 months due to the Korean War. During his military service he received numerous citations and metals of recognition. After returning to Ansul he was engaged as the Production Manager for 1952 to 1959. In 1959 he was promoted to Assistant President of the International Division and lived and worked in many countries including Europe, Mexico, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, England, Algeria, Greece, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Pakistan, Thailand, Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco. He retired in 1984. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Palm Coast, FL; son, Patrick of Berkeley, CA; daughter, Jeanne Shoup; grandson, David and granddaughter, Elizabeth of Concord, MA; stepsons, Karl Ashbrenner of Stoughton, WI, Kurt Ashbrenner of Hartland, WI; stepdaughter, Amy Kifune; granddaughters, Kasidy and Quinn of the Colony, TX.
