Sue Bowman Jones, 70, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2013. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. She was laid to rest at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery. Sue was born on February 8, 1943 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to the late Elizabeth Brown Bowman & Harold Bowman. She attended Mainland High School and graduated in 1961. Following her graduation Sue Attended the University of Florida where she graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Sue spent most of her career working in Michigan at The MacComb Oakland Regional Center as a professional trainer for the developmentally disabled. She was an active member of The United Unitarian Universalist Church in South Field Michigan before relocating to Port Orange, Florida in 2002. Sue loved traveling when she was able and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Currently she was living at Bridgeview Nursing Center, a facility that her parents built in the early 1950's. Sue is survived by her loving husband, Eugene Jones, of Port Orange; sisters, Brooke (Larry) McDonald; Carol (Jim) Gainey; friends, Terry Allen, Terri D'Andrea. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and loving cat Samson. Arrangements are under the entrusted care of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
