Viola (Vii) B. Leinfelder, 97, of Port Orange, passed away Saturday February 1, 2014. She was born December 8, 1916 in Galveston, Texas. She graduated from Ball High School and received her bachelors degree from the University of Texas. Vii formerly worked at the Slaton Texas Gazette, the Mildand Reporter Telegraph and later worked as an Accountant Executive with the Anderson Independent in Anderson SC for over 30 years. She was a commercial artist and loved to draw and paint as a hobby and professionally. Mom had ink in veins and could not start a day without holding a newspaper in her hands and reading it from the front to back. She loved all living things and loved her family. She is survived by her son, David S. Leinfelder; her daughter, Candy D. Gilman; three grandsons, Michael "Gregory" Jones, "Marc" Lewis Jones and Wallace "Lester" Jones; three granddaughters, Jeri Ann Guth, Kristi Whitacre and Kara Meyer; and 10 great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Federation, Jerry Doliner Food Bank, 470 Andalusia Ave., Ormond Beach FL 32174. A graveside service will be today (Tuesday) at 10:30 a.m. at Shady Rest Cemetery in Holly Hill.
