William R. Farrell , age 91, of Deland, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012. A viewing will be held, Friday January 4, 2012 at Lohman Funeral Home Deland between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 P.M. A Prayer service will begin in the Chapel at 5:00 P.M. William was born on May 14, 1921 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late William and Mary (Quinn) Farrell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, and served proudly during World War II. William was a prisoner of war in Germany from February 22, 1944 until June 12, 1945. He also received a purple heart during his time of service. He worked in sales and at one time owned a Jeep Dealership in Connecticut. William was an avid reader and spent time collecting books. William is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Farrell, siblings; Rita, Claire, Henry, Joseph, Eleanor, and Frances. He is survived by his siblings James E. Farrell, Jean Drexler; children, Thomas Farrell, William Farrell, Richard Farrell, Nancy Poust, Patti Catlani, and Phyllis Farrell.
