A Celebration of Life Service for William Russell Case, who died on Friday, May 17, 2013 at home, will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 956 Derbyshire Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32117, on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with Chaplain Sam Mullin officiating.
Mr. Case was born on January 9, 1924 in DeLand, Florida and moved to Holly Hill, Florida 47 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a World War II veteran. Bill later retired from Sherwin Williams Paint Company in Ormond Beach. During his career at Sherwin - Williams, he was a Retail Sales Manager for both the DeLand and Daytona stores. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Daytona Beach as well as a Life Member of the Halifax Volunteer Firemen's Association, a volunteer for 23 years at the Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts and a former Boy Scout Leader. Bill served as a volunteer firefighter with the Halifax Fire Department and Volusia County Fire Services for over twenty years, retiring as a Fire Police Captain. Bill is predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Peggy Bowles, his brothers, DeMotte, Marvin, Oliver and John, and his sister, Elizabeth. In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Christine Barnes Case, he is survived by: his son and daughterinlaw, Michael and Rachel Case of Mississippi; his son and daughterinlaw, Rusty and Jo Case of Ormond Beach; his son John Case of Ormond Beach; four grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
