Harold James Miller

Harold James Miller, 89, was born on July 17, 1924 in Springfield, and went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2014, while a resident at James River Care Center.

He was a Springfield High School graduate and a WWII veteran serving in the Army-Air Force. Harold was a man of many talents. After a long career with the Springfield Fire Department, he retired as a Captain in 1984.

Harold is survived by his wife Wanda (Sapp-Hill) Miller of nearly 52 years, and their children, Marilyn King, Sherrie Inskeep and Mike Thomas, David Hill and wife, Luanne, and Sandy Vincent and husband, Don; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Ted Miller and his wife, Malinda (Orange, Texas) and a sister, Pat Matthews (Springfield) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Greenlawn North on Monday, April 21st at 1 pm. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 20th, from 4-6 pm at the funeral home.
