James "Jim" L. Landolt

James "Jim" L. Landolt, 68, of Springfield, MO, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 8, 2013. He was born September 17, 1945, in Bonne Terre, MO, to Linn E. and Wilma A. (Grayson) Landolt. Jim was a 1963 graduate of Flat River High School. He attended Baylor University and received his degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Jim served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. He would later retire from the City of Springfield Department of Public Works. Jim loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, canoeing and kayaking. Jim took great pride in accomplishing sobriety and being able to help others achieve the same goal. Jim's greatest joy was spending time with family; he loved to tell stories about fun times with the grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Connie (Baldwin) Landolt; three sons, Todd A. (Rita) Landolt, French Village, MO; Doug J. (Holly) Landolt, Park Hills, MO; Brad L. (Kristin Cherry) Landolt, Columbia, MO; proud "Pop" of six grandchildren; Jacob, Jenna, Lani Kai Christy, Kim and Shauna; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte; sister, Judy (Mrs. Robert Gindorf), London, KY; aunt, Dorothy (Clark) Pallo, Park Hills, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Visitation will be Monday, November 11, 2013, 5:00pm - 7:30pm. Rev. Bill Anderson will be officiating funeral services on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 10:30am, both at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield. Jim's final resting place will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated if made to the or the .
