Jimmie Lyn Kerr

Jim Kerr, 69, Springfield, MO passed away on May 17, 2014 in the Mount Vernon Veterans Home.

Jim was born in Springfield on March 5, 1945 to June and LeVera Kerr. Jim graduated from Republic High School in 1963. He served in Germany for the U.S. Army for 2 years. Jim enjoyed being a barber for 45 years. He was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra Kerr of 45 years. He is also survived by his son Kelly Kerr and his wife Sherry, granddaughters; Bailey Meadows and Emma Kerr. One sister Deana Warford and husband Bill, niece Julie Phillips and husband Kirk and a great-niece Andrea Harris.

Jim was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, which he shared with his son, Kelly. Jim enjoyed retirement and traveling in his R.V.

The family would like to thank the Mt. Vernon Veterans Home for their wonderful care.

Funeral service's will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Visitation will be in Greenlawn Funeral Home South on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 6 -8 p.m.
