Paul L. Pruett
Dr. Paul L. Pruett, Springfield, Missouri, died April 9, 2014 after a long fight against cancer. He was born in Weaubleau, Missouri May 16, 1927. He was the son of William Omer Pruett and Mildred Elizabeth (Palmer) Pruett; grandson of Will and Annie (Vaughn) Palmer, and William and Ellen (Durnell) Pruett.
Dr. Pruett graduated from Raytown, Mo. High School, William Jewell College, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1946. He graduated from University of Kansas Medical School, Tulane OB/GYN Residency Program, and practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology with The Woman's Clinic in Springfield from 1958 to 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Marijean "Jeanie" (Martin) Pruett and ten children: Mike Pruett of Springfield; Sarah Pruett of Avon, Minnesota; Tim Pruett of Springfield; Dan Pruett of Longmont, Colorado; Laura Gibaldi of Queensbury, New York; Andy Pruett of Republic, Missouri; Elizabeth Pruett of Springfield; John Pruett of Springfield; Martha Pruett of Springfield; and Catherine Goolsby of Allen, Texas; eighteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Matteson White and niece, Linda Bohannon, both of Wichita Kansas.
The body has been cremated. There will be no visitation. A Mass celebrating his life will be Monday, April 14, at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2818 E. Bennett, Springfield, MO 65804. In lieu of flowers, in his memory, please make a donation to a
