Robert M. Campbell
Robert M. Campbell, 86, Rogersville, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 surrounded by his family and his wife holding his hand.
He was born March 1, 1928 in Springfield, Missouri the son of the late James R. and Pearl W. (Wright) Campbell. He was united in marriage on August 11, 1948 in Springfield to Mary Lou Vickery. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary and a daughter, Debbie.
Robert was very proud to be a direct descendent of John Polk Campbell, founder of the city of Springfield and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a retired truck driver with Springfield Ready Mix for over 30 years and a member of Teamsters Local #245. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting and his donkey's, but most of all he was a loving, hardworking family man and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Lou; three sons, Larry Campbell and his wife Patricia, Seymour; Steve Campbell, Springfield; and David Campbell, Rogersville; a sister, Betty Deskin, Springfield; three daughters-in-law, Cathy, Vicki and Connie; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Maple Park Cemetery, Springfield.
Visitation will be held from 5 - 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 4, 2014 in the funeral home.
