Steve Angell

Steven N. Angell, 81, Ozark, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in ManorCare, Springfield.

He was born September 24, 1932 in St. Charles, Illinois the son of the late Nicholas Samuel Brown and Minnie Ruth Pattee. He was united in marriage to Mary L. Hollaway on April 4, 1959 in Beloit, Kansas. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeff Angell in 2001 and a sister Virginia Gregg.

Steve was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of Park College and obtained his master's degree in Audiology from Kansas University. He moved to Springfield in 1968 and was Springfield's first Audiologist. He retired from Smith-Glynn-Callaway Clinic in 1999. He was a member of Ozark Presbyterian Church; Christian County Elks Lodge No. 2777 and Fremont Hills Country Club. He was also a member of Solomon Lodge No. 281 and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple where he was active in the Directors Staff, past Rajah of Christian County Shrine Club, a member of the Christian County Shrine Cook Crew and served as Aide to several Potentates. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing the lawn, "cattle ranching", and tinkering in his shop.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, John Angell, Ozark; two daughters, Jeanne Angell, St. Louis; and Joanne Angell, Springfield; a sister-in-law, Betty Vernon and her husband Bob, Beloit, KS; and many, many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Inurnment will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield.

Visitation will be held from 6 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the funeral home.

The family request memorial donations be made to the Shrine Mosque Preservation Fund, c/o Abou Ben Adhem Temple, 601 St. Louis Street, Springfield, MO 65806.
