Virgil T. Gemeinhardt

Virgil T. Gemeinhardt, 89 of Springfield, was born on July 3, 1924 in Lohman, MO to Christian and Bessie (Kernschield) Gemeinhardt. He passed away on May 4, 2014 at the Neighborhoods at Quail Creek.

He was a WWII Veteran and served in the Navy for 3 years, from June 1943 till March 1946. He was a district sales manager for Kellogg Sale Company of Southwest Missouri for 29 years and his hobby was calling square dances and teaching square dance lessons all over the U.S. and Hawaii for 35 years.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna K. Bryan and son-in-law, James P. Bryan. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; son, Dwayne (Tamra) Gemeinhardt; grandsons, Christian (Helena) Bryan and Jared (Stephanie) Gemeinhardt; great granddaughter, Adriana Bryan; sister, Jenetia (Edward) Gibler and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 till 8:00 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
