Wilburn Lee Dailey

Wilburn Lee Dailey, age 62, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Jefferson Barracks Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. He was born June 20, 1951 and was raised in Marshfield, MO were he would graduate high school.

He served in the United States Air Force as a search and rescue para-jumper during the Vietnam War. Wilburn served his fellow veterans by working for them as a veteran's service officer, helping them get the benefits that they were entitled to and the honors they deserved. He received two Undergraduate degrees in History and Political Science, and a Master's degree in History from Missouri State University. His emphasis was in Western American Expansion and Native American Studies.

Wilburn was united in marriage to Joan DeBord on June 6, 1981.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Della Louise Dailey. He is survived by his wife: Joan DeBord, his children: Nicholas J. Dailey and Jeanne-Marie DeBord Eubanks, and his brother: Wayne Dailey of Willard MO; and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Hall Post #639, 149 Memorial Plaza, Springfield, MO, on February 14, at 12 pm- 1 pm. A graveside service will follow, at 2 pm, with Military Honors at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
