William David Butcher

William David Butcher, 91, of Springfield, MO passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was born in Lebanon, MO on April 19, 1923.

He retired from City Utilities. He was a veteran in World War II and was honored with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

David is preceded in death by his wife Anita Butcher; granddaughter Holly Butcher; sister Phyllis Robinson and his brother Wayne Butcher.

He is survived by his son Joe Don Butcher; daughters JaNell Hedges and Karla (Ken) Divin; two grandsons Kenny and Benjamin Divin (Jenay Lamy); sisters Rita Hixon and Willa (Junior) Wood; brother Edward Butcher, sister-in-law Eloise Sprenger; brother-in-law Otto (Pat) Clayton; special friends Kay Owen and family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2014 from 2-3 p.m. at Campbell United Methodist Church 1747 E. Republic Rd Springfield, MO 65804 with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. burial will take place at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in honor of David to Campbell United Methodist Church.
