Brantly Chappell Obituary

SEPTEMBER 25, 2013

Brantly Chappell, of Fort Myers, Florida, died Wed., Sept. 25, 2013, at the age of 99. He was born April 8, 1914 in Wibaux, Montana and lived in Winona Minnesota off and on until 1964 and in Elkhart, Indiana from 1964 until his retirement to Fort Myers in 1979, where he resided since. He married Kathryn Maxson in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on February 22, 1947.

A graduate of Northwestern University, University of Minnesota Law School and Rutgers University Graduate School of Banking., his career of banking included practice of law in Winona and La Crosse, Wisconsin, service as a Special Agent of The F.B.I, and 25 years as a banker in Winona, and Elkhart.

He was a member of Safe Harbor Community Church, Elks Club, Society of Former Special Agents of The F.B.I, Sigma Chi Fraternity and Masonic lodges in Winona and Fort Myers. He had served for 53 years as a Rotarian in Winona, Elkhart, and Fort Myers. In addition had also been active member of Cypress Lake Country Club, Myerlee Country Club.

Mr. Chappell is survived by his wife, Kathryn; sons Barry J. of Kingwood, Texas, Brantly K. of Burlington, Wisconsin, Scott M. of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Rex Arney of Sheridan, Wyoming; and daughters Sally Kay Richards of Houston, Texas and Ellen Jane Jessen of Granger, Indiana; and nine grandchildren.

Arrangements, funeral service, and burial will be by Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart.
