Carl Frederick Buer, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on 1/18/2014. He was born in Charles City, Iowa on 11/7/26 to Carl B. and Anna Buer. His family later moved to Minneapolis, MN. After graduating from North High School he served in the U. S. Navy, then married and had four children. Carl earned his Doctorate in Psychology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.
He moved to Racine, Wisconsin to pursue his career. He worked in private practice as a Psychologist and met and married his wife June, bringing her daughter Jane into the family! They later moved to Canandaigua, NY where he practiced at the VA Hospital working with WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Vets. He was very honored to do this. Carl and June retired to N. Ft. Myers, FL where they have enjoyed making so many wonderful friends, traveling and participating in stimulating activities. Carl and June both pursued their love of tennis and were competitive team players on their community teams. They both felt that this move was the best decision of their lives! Carl leaves behind his beloved wife, June; children, Sandra (Mike) Hamerski, Christine (Bill) Olson, Douglas (Yasuko) Buer and Jane (Jim) Perry, daughter-in-law Genie, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and sister-in-law Geraldine Ulcek. Carl was preceded in death by his son Richard (Genie) Buer and grandson Philip Perry.
Services will be held at: Messiah Lutheran Church Wednesday, January 29th at 2:00 PM with coffee and dessert to follow.
