In Loving Memory of

Edward F. Eddy

November 9, 1923 - March 26, 2014

Edward F. Eddy, 90, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on March 26, 2014. He had been a resident of Fort Myers since 1987. He formerly resided in Chatham, NJ, West Simsbury, CT. and Port Jefferson, NY. He was a native of Pittsburgh, PA.

Mr. Eddy graduated from Duquesne University and received a Masters Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Duquesne University. Mr. Eddy was a bomber pilot in WWII. He served as President of ITT Communications Systems and NEC Telephones.

Ed was an avid golfer, accomplished oil painter, loved riding his 3-wheeled bike and was the cartoonist for the Heritage Palms monthly newspaper, "Between The Palms." He was a Lector at both Resurrection and Blessed Pope John XXIII Catholic Church for many years and read to the blind over the radio at WGCU for almost 20 years. At the age of 89, Ed fulfilled one of his "Bucket List" wishes and went skydiving.

He is survived by his children Gregory (Karen) Eddy of Apple Valley, MN, Clifford (Arlene) Eddy of Tinton Falls, NJ, Deborah Eddy Schwartz of Fort Myers and Karen J. Eddy of Darien, CT . Grandfather of Justin Eddy, Lauren (Eddy) Yaeger, Ryan Eddy and Juliann, Jeremy and Joshua Schwartz and his sisters Elizabeth Kearns and Nancy Lescisin.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Jeanne and son Edward "Douglas" Eddy.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Blessed Pope John XXIII, Fort Myers with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am.
