Frank Edgar L'Hommedieu, Jr., 92, passed away Wednesday, Novemeber 6, 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida. Frank was born August 27, 1921 in Mulberry, Florida, the only child of Frank Sr. and Katherine L'Hommedieu. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Michigan in 1939, and briefly attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, where he studied Engineering. Frank married his high school Sweetheart, Norma Beatrice Yorke in 1943 at Highland Park. He served honorably during World War II in the European Theatre. A fireman in Highland Park for 15 years, he moved his family to Cape Coral, Florida in 1963. In Lee County, he owned and operated service stations in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, before retiring in 1984.
Frank is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Frank III; daughter, Paula (Collins); grandchildren, Darren and Patrick (Collins); and great grandchildren, .Nichole, Thomas and Zander (Collins).
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
