Harold E. Bockler

February 25, 2013

Harold Bockler, 92, formerly of Washington, IL passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 in Fort Myers, FL. He was born on November 23, 1920 in Woodford County, IL to Teresa and William J. Bockler. Harold married his wife Ann, of 67 years, in 1942 in Peoria, IL. During World War II, Mr. Bockler served in the U.S. Coast Guard in San Francisco, monitoring entrances and exits from San Francisco Bay. After serving our country, Harold and Ann returned to Washington, IL where he established Bockler Excavating. He continued building this business for the next 30 years. While still operating Bockler Excavating, Harold helped to establish and worked at Metamora Industries in Metamora, IL. Shortly after moving to Fort Myers, Fl, he began consulting at S.L. Page and worked as a special projects coordinator. For the next 20 years, he assisted at S.L. Page and also donated his time at the Nations Association in Fort Myers. Most of his time was spent with his family, both in Illinois and in Florida. He and his wife, Ann, delighted most in this. Harold was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many trips to Canada and Minnesota fishing for walleye. One of his most

memorable trips was a fishing trip to Alaska, where he was able to return with lots of Halibut and Salmon to share with friends and family. He was a remarkable man who lived life to the fullest, always taking the opportunity to help anyone in need. Harold's legacy lives on through one son, Roger (Jan) Bockler of Washington, Ill.; one daughter, Rojene A. Page of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, Angela (Joseph) Olson of Elkhart, Ill., Brian (Tina) Bockler of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and Jamaisa A. Page of Fort Myers, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren, Margaret Olson, Elijah Olson, and Chloe Olson of Elkhart, Ill., and Ethan Bockler, Stefan Bockler, Brayden Bockler and Bryce Bockler, all of Ladera Ranch, Calif, and his faithful companion Bella, of Fort Myers, Fl. A Celebration of Life will be held in Fort Myers, FL on Sunday March 10 at 2pm at Saint Michael Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nations Association or Hope Hospice.
