Irene J. Lowe was born on March 14, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to her parents Paul A. and Mary (Hollowell) Johns Sr. She passed away in Fort Myers, FL on April 24, 2014.

She is survived by her son Denver D. Lowe Jr. of Ft. Myers Beach. She is preceded in death by her husband Denver D. Lowe Sr.; her granddaughter Rebecca Dawn Lowe; and her parents.

Irene was an avid world traveler who enjoyed life and her friends. She was nicknamed "Sparkles" for her sparkling personality and her zest for life. She was an accomplished teacher and educator who later on became a leading business woman in her community. She along with her father started the very first accounting service in Cape Coral known as Cape Coral Accounting Service. She was an IRS Enrolled Agent and financial consultant. Irene was also very prominent in bringing women to the forefront of business and was a founding member of the local ABWA American Business Women's Association. She has received numerous accolades and awards throughout her life to include being named "Woman and Boss of the Year." Irene was included in "Who's Who of American Women" in 1978 and also served as an officer in various other civic clubs and organizations such as the Accountants Association, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eastern Star. She was a direct descendant of John Morton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Irene was known to always do the right thing and was trusted and admired by everyone who knew her.

A visitation will be held at the Fuller Metz Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 10 am-12. A celebration of Irene's life will follow beginning at 12 Noon. Burial will follow services at Coral Ridge Cemetery, Cape Coral, FL. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Hope Hospice. Please visit www.fullermetz.com to leave the family a condolence.
