Patrick Emmett "pg" Geraghty Jr.

Obituary Condolences

May 5, 2014

The Gator Nation has lost one of its finest. Patrick Emmett Geraghty, Jr., fondly known as "PG", passed away on May 5, 2014 following a valiant battle with cancer. PG is survived by his loving parents, Pat and Dena; his sisters, Kelley, Erin and Kirby; his brothers-in-law, Scott, Bobby, and Doug; his nieces and nephews Connor, Delaney, Darby, Benjamin and Hannah - all of whom lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Peege" - and last but not least, his faithful retriever Boone.

PG was the ultimate Gator fan and loved all things UF. He attended the University of Florida for three years where he became a brother at Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and graduated from the University of South Florida - thus mastering becoming the life of the party at both institutions. PG was an intern for United States Senator Lawton Chiles, but later became a rabid Republican, much to the chagrin of some of his family members. Forever a fan of UF football and basketball, PG never forgot his Gator roots and eventually became a proud and long-time Gator booster. Possessing the gift of gab, an incredible connection to people, and a fabulous sense of humor, PG discovered his passion for the pharmaceutical industry after college. PG quickly rose in the ranks from drug sales representative to district manager for major pharmaceutical companies, and later founded a highly successful pharmaceutical recruiting business, Therapeutic Partners, LLC.

Business savvy aside, PG had an infectious personality, quick wit, and never met a stranger. He was generous to a fault - giving of his time, attention, love, friendship, and humor. He made friends wherever he went, convincing them to join along in his journey of life. PG treated life as an adventure - he lived every day to its fullest, did things HIS WAY and never made apologies for doing so. Although his life was cut short by disease, PG packed a lifetime of living and sharing into his 50 years and made a difference in the lives of those that knew and loved him. Because of PG we all laughed more, loved more, and had richer lives - for that we are eternally grateful. Please join us in a Celebration of PG's Life in Boynton Beach, Florida on May 9, 2014 at the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine & Garden at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 5:00 PM, with a reception to follow at PG's home. There will also be an additional Celebration of PG's Life in his hometown of Ft. Myers on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Church of the Resurrection on Cypress Lake Drive at 10:00 AM, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

We are certain that as PG passed through the gates of Heaven the Gator Fight song was playing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Patrick E. Geraghty, Jr. to the University of Florida Foundation, P.O. Box 14425, Gainesville, Florida 33436, to benefit the UF College of Nursing, or in memory of Patrick E.
