Randall William Harris was born on July 4, 1949 in Terre Haute, IN to his parents Virgil William and Ruby Marie (Donham) Harris and passed away at his home in Cape Coral, FL. on July 6, 2014.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Penny (Lark) Harris; step sons Scott Stewart and Shawn (Vicki) Stewart; grandchildren Brittany and Tyler Marshall, Michael Stewart; brother Robert (Pam) Harris; brother in law David and Marsha Lark; nieces, nephew, and many friends who will miss him dearly, especially all of his friends in Terre Haute, IN.

Randy was a lifetime member of the VFW 8463 of Cape Coral and VFW 972 in Terre Haute, IN. He also gave back to his community through the American Legion 104 in Terre Haute, and the Murdock Racing Club also in IN.

Randy graduated Garfield High School in 1967 and decided to serve his country honorably walking point with the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970.  He was awarded 1 Bronze Star, Expert Marksmanship, Air Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and many others during his enlistment.  He was honorably discharged on July 7, 1970.  Randy was very excited to reconnect with his battle buddies and Lieutenant Keeney in which he served with in Vietnam.

He spent his civilian career in the construction industry.  He belonged to the Laborers' International Union of North America 204.

Randy loved to spend time working in his yard and gardening.  The highlight of Randy's typical day was spending time with all of his friends at the VFW.  He always loved to make people laugh and he was never a stranger to anyone.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Fuller Metz Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life held Thursday July 10th at The Cape Coral VFW Post 8463 at 1pm. Interment will take place at a later date at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Riley, IN.  Please visit to leave the family a condolence.
