Robert Lincoln Temby

Robert Temby, 88, of Fort Myers, was born January 21, 1926 and raised in Escanaba, Michigan. His parents were the late James Lincoln and Ruth Banbery Temby.

He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1943 and entered the Army Air Force in April, 1944 during WWII. He graduated from University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in English in 1949, and a master's degree in Education in 1952. His teaching career began in Owosso, Michigan in 1949 and moved to Illinois in 1953. He taught for thirty-nine years, retiring to Fort Myers in 1988.

He was active in Ivanhoe Congregational Church in Mundelein, IL, and in Covenant Presbyterian Church and New Hope Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers. He married Martha Sigl in 1995.

He is survived by his beloved wife Martha; his daughter, Sue Butler (Charlie); his son, Chris (Deb); his son, Keith (Dianne); stepdaughters Christine Smith (Brendan) Linda Sigl, and stepson David Sigl (Kada), eight grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3825 McGregor Blvd, Ft Myers on Wednesday, July 30 at 2:00 pm. Memorial gifts may be made to: New Hope Presbyterian Church building fund or Hope Hospice in Fort Myers.
