Walter "Rosey" Leo Rosenkranz, 83, a Cape Coral resident since 1997, formerly of Bellville, IL, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Cape Coral, FL surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 8, 1930 in East St. Louis, IL to Walter and Lucille, now deceased. Walter was of the Protestant faith. He was a US Marine Corps Korean War Purple Heart veteran. He retired from the rail road after 49 years of service in Illinois. After relocating to Cape Coral he worked at Publix for 10 years and also enjoyed working three years as an umpire for the City of Cape Coral. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Janet "Jan" Rosenkranz of Cape Coral; nine children, Brian Rosenkranz of Cape Coral, Toby Rosenkranz and his wife Jennifer also of Cape Coral, Deann Craig and her husband Robert of Bellville, IL, Douglas Crouch and his wife Kimberly of TN, Duane Crouch and his wife Aimee of NC, Darin Crouch and his fiancé Valerie Panozzo of Chicago, IL as well as Walter Rosenkranz, Jr., Trish Rosenkranz and Mark Rosenkranz; in addition to 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Walter, the last of his siblings, was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Memorial services will be held 10:30AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Hope Hospice Chapel, 2430 Diplomat Parkway, Cape Coral, FL 33909.
