WILLIAM C. "CHUCK" DIXON

April 8, 2014

BANGOR, ME - William Charles "Chuck" Dixon, 58, died unexpectedly April 8, 2014 at EMMC. He was born January 28, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, the son of William Theron and Marie Austin Dixon.

Chuck graduated from Hampden Academy. Following high school, he attended the University of Maine and New York University where he obtained a Bachelor's of Science and Nursing. A lifelong student, he never stopped pursuing further education in the nursing field. An RN at EMMC and Lee Memorial Hospital (Fort Myers, FL), Chuck worked passionately for thirty years in ICU Open Heart. He proudly referred to his coworkers as the A-Team.

On July 21st, 1979, Chuck married the love of his life and soul mate, Carrie whom he fondly referred to as "Little Bit". The beautiful couple celebrated 34 years of marriage last summer by camping in the coastal Maine woods, one of Chuck's favorite places.

Sensei Dixon earned a 4th Don black belt in Uechi Ryu Karate. Chuck learned the art of riding dressage under Captain Alex Solarzano at Trapho Farms. His love of horses led him to complete in dressage studying under Scott Hassler. He celebrated his Celtic heritage through the Spirit of the Dance. Fervently mastering many interests, Chuck invited his friends, family and especially his son, Patrick, to join him in all of his pursuits. He was undoubtedly a teacher by nature and led by example in all things.

He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carrie (Lynch) Dixon; his children: Patrick Dixon, Mark Richardson, Kelly Richardson, and Tavia DeSalvo; Thirteen grandchildren: Katy and her husband, Alain, Mikey and his wife, Michelle, Dominic and his wife, Becka, Casey, Samantha and her husband, Jonathon, Tabitha and her husband, Eddie, Sam, Maddie, Eli, Jake, Jared, Jason, and Jana and her husband, Brad; Thirteen great-grandchildren: Aryus, Alaric, Tristan, Ramiel, Gracelynn, Riley, Izaiha, Samarra, Xzavian, Selena, Mathias, Ruth, and Kaydance; a brother, Jim Dixon; a niece, Sarah; and nephews, Ben and Danny.
