William Dale Huffman William Dale Huffman, 63, of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012. He was the son of Evelyn Smith Huffman Johnson (Friend Lewis) and the late Hugh Vernon Huffman.

In addition to his mother, Dale is survived by his wife, Brenda Carwile Huffman, and their children; Heather Huffman Hegsted (Brandon), and Nathan Huffman, brothers: Jimmy Dean, David (Louise), and Roger (Susan); grand-children: Hannah, Haley, Cara, and Carlee; and step-children: Ricky Bryant (Amanda), and Cody Bryant (Lauren), and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins.

Dale was a Vietnam War veteran, serving our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a dedicated LPN at Guggenheimer Nursing Home for 14 years. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 6:30 P.M. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 P.M. with Rev. Michael W. Brown officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The , 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA 24108. The family would like to extend special thanks to Holly Carson, as well as the other hospice nurses for their loving care of Dale.
