COAL TOWNSHIP — John J. Ruback Jr., 52, of 1758 Clinton Ave., passed away unexpectedly at 1:11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the emergency room at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital after being stricken ill at home.

Born May 6, 1961, in Danville, he was a son of Marilyn (Shipe) Ruback, and the late John J. Ruback Sr. John lived in Lansdale for 27 years before moving back to the area.

He was a 1979 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School and a 1983 graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree.

He was the owner of Ruback and Associates LLC Public Insurance Adjusters for the past six years.

John attended Our Lady of Hope Church and was a member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, the American Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, where he was membership chairman, and the Mid-Atlantic Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, where he was an officer and secretary. He was licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He was also a member of the Shamokin Kiwanis Club, and the Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce.

He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and adored his puppies.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by several cousins and his two English Springer Spaniel puppies, Cochise and Masta.

RUBACK — John J. Ruback, 52, of 1758 Clinton Ave., Coal Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Church, 863 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, with the Rev. Adrian Gallagher presiding. Burial will be at St. Peter's Blue Church Cemetery, Paxinos. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. The Olley-Gotlob Funeral Home, 539 Race St., Sunbury, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be given to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School.
