MOUNT CARMEL — John M. Hamulla, 71, of 118 N. Locust St., passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 20, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born April 28, 1942, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late John and Dorothy (Hornberger) Hamulla.
He was a 1960 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and attended Penn State University.
On July 3, 1965, in Mount Carmel, he married Bernice (Stelma) Hamulla, who survives.
He was a retired scheduler, and was employed for various manufacturing corporations before his retirement.
He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2110, both of Mount Carmel. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Sheriffs Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Sandra Ball, of Summerville, N.J.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, 13 cats and two dogs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sonya Hamulla, on Nov. 2, 2012.
HAMULLA — John M. Hamulla, 71, of 118 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with Monsignor Myron Grabowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Viewing will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
