Dr. Prince was smart, kind, and gentle. He was generous with his time and loved to teach- patients, nurses and anyone else who showed an interest. I worked with him for the ten+ years he was at the Health Department. He helped so very many people. I still miss him, his knowledge and his humor

Whenever a child was sick, their parents did not need to stress if Dr. George Prince was the doctor caring for their child. Not only did he provide excellent care for the children, he had the ability to soothe the concerned parent. He was very devoted to his profession and patients. I had the utmost respect for the doctors and staff at the Children's Clinic. He will be greatly missed.

I met Dr. Prince at age 4 . I was a very sick child. He was home from the Air Force and came to see me at my doctors request. No Doctor knew what my diagnosis was. I was dying. Within hours I was diagnosed with ITP, a rare disorder, and treatment started. He took such personalized care of me until I was grown. Twenty years later, I had the privilege of a hug from him and taking care of his patients at Gaston Memorial as a RN. My inspiration to become a nurse was Doctor Prince. Years later he treated my son who required an exchange transfusion as a newborn. He came by to check on him before flying to Greece. Later he treated that little boy for ITP also. Patient, brilliant, dedicated . He gave freely to Gastonia and her children. He always educated me, allowed me to be a sick child, gave me choices in my treatment. Even if the choice was small like being checked before or after Captain Kangaroo! Or being allowed to wear his stethoscope and hear his heart.beat!
He'd set down and watch cartoons with me! He demanded excellence for his patients care .He gave selfishly to his patients. All my fear disappeared when I saw him. He was my pediatrician and he was my friend. A great man. A great Pediatrician. He made a difference. He will be missed. Cathy Wall Ross RN
