Kenneth "Ken" Sparks Crumpler, age 66, of Zebulon, North Carolina, passed away on July 25th, 2014. Ken breathed his soul away into his Savior's arms surrounded by loved ones.
Ken was born on February 26th, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Reverend Al Ray Crumpler and Buena Vista Sparks Crumpler. Ken spent his childhood in southern Georgia. He was an avid golf lover. Ken became an NCAA basketball fan, due in large part to his wife, Cheryl, who is an avid basketball enthusiast. Ken was best known for his sense of humor and dedication to his family and friends. Above all else, Ken kept his family first.
Ken graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1971. Ken was a member of the GSU chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. In Ken's younger years he was an active member of the Waycross, Georgia chapter of the Jaycees and the Moultrie, Georgia Civitan Organization. While in North Carolina, Ken was a member of the Zebulon United Methodist Church and Zebulon Rotary Club.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Cheryl Ratcliff Crumpler; sons, Andrew Sparks Crumpler and wife Hunter of Lake Royale, North Carolina and Adam Lee Crumpler and wife Carina of Cape Coral, Florida; grandchild, Silas Graham Crumpler (son of Andrew and Hunter); sisters, Pat Sewell & husband John of Savannah, Georgia and Nancy Brannan & husband Emora of Baltimore, Maryland; 9 nieces and nephews; and 6 great nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving visitors on Saturday, August 9th from 7 to 8:30 P.M. at Zebulon United Methodist Church, 121 W Gannon Ave, Zebulon, North Carolina. The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 10that 2 P.M. at Zebulon.In lieu of flowers, Ken wished to have donations made to the
