Lauren Elizabeth Dilthey Sink went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 12, 2014, after a brief hospitalization. Lauren was born on October 19, 1966, in Raleigh, North Carolina, the beloved daughter of Ronald C. Dilthey and Shirley Burrus Dilthey. She is survived by her parents, her two daughters, Ashley Elizabeth Chase and Caroline Burrus Sink; her sister Deborah D. Seipp and brother-in-law Harry; her niece Elizabeth Seipp; and her nephew David Seipp.

Lauren attended St. Timothy's School, Ravenscroft School, and graduated from St. Mary's School in 1985. While in school, she was a cheerleader and member of the women's soccer teams at all three schools. In her senior year, she was a model for the Belk's Teen Board. She was graduated from Wake Forest University in 1992. She enrolled in the paralegal program at Meredith College and worked for several years in her father's law firm before dedicating herself to home and family.

As a breast cancer survivor, Lauren was very involved in the "Walk for the Cure to Prevent Breast Cancer." She was a volunteer for a number of years in the Prevent Blindness fundraisers and was a member of the Friends of the Wake County Bar Association.

Lauren was an artist and sold her hand-painted articles both locally and on the internet. Many Raleigh homes have some of her work. She painted a mural on the walls of the Children's Library at St. Michael's Episcopal Church with her whimsical animals.

Lauren was a lifelong member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church where a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, conducted by the Reverend Ned Hill and the Reverend Vernon Tyson. Visitation with the family will follow in Kerr Hall.
