Wolf, Susan L.
Susan Lynne Wolf, 68, of Bethel, CT died on Friday, March 28 at Danbury Hospital after a short battle with lung cancer.
Born on May 8, 1945 in Childress, Texas, she is the daughter of Lillian Schoenstein McCoskey of Madison, IN and the late John Schoenstein. She grew up in Madison, IN and graduated from Indiana University where she received a degree in government with a minor in economics. She was a member and former president of Chi Omega Sorority.
Sue moved to Bethel in 1976 and was active in the community. She was a charter member of the Stony Hill Exchange Club, and held many club offices as a member of the Bethel Chamber of Commerce including the Small Business Development Committee. Before becoming editor of The Redding Pilot in 1995, Sue was a part-time reporter and then editor of the now defunct Bethel Home News from 1976 until the fall of 1995. She received the 1987 New England Press Association Editorial Page Award, the 1989 Feature Writing Award, and was the 1989 recipient of the Business and Professional Women's Media Award. During her many years as a journalist and editor, she earned more than 35 press association awards including general excellence.
She was a member of the Bethel American Legion Axillary and the Hudson Valley Subvette-ettes.
Her family and friends were the center of her life. Sue is survived by David Rosenbluh of Bethel, CT; her daughter Stephanie Wolf Phillips, her husband Chris Phillips and their two children Eric and Kyle of Portola Hills, CA; her son Brian Wolf and his girlfriend Trish Muccigrosso of New Milford; her mother Lillian McCoskey of Madison, IN; her sister Sharon Schoenstein of Port Orange, FL. and nephew Dean Clapham of Greenwood, IN. She is predeceased by her nephew John Clapham.
She is also survived by David's children Diane Cotter, her husband, Bob, and their sons Robert and Shaun; David Rosenbluh; and Robert Rosenbluh, Jeannie Brighindi, and their son Bob Rosenbluh.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Church of Christ Congregational Church, 25 Cross Highway in Redding, CT on Wednesday April 2, 2014 at 1 pm.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
