George, William N.
William Nicholas George, "Bud", age 88 of Norwalk, died on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Danbury, with his daughters by his side. Born in Torrington, CT, he was the son of Anthony and Elsie (Ferry) George. A Naval veteran of WWII, he served aboard the USS South Dakota. Bud was employed by SNET for 37 years and was a Norwalk Hospital Volunteer for 20 years. He enjoyed golf, fishing and taking walks along the beach, but most important to him was the time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Sharon Simon, Wendy Snow and Toni Fenton and her husband Phillip, all of Danbury, daughter-in-law Christina George, 9 grandchildren: Kimberly (Steve), Glenn (Mariah), Craig (Erica), Jennifer, Jessica, April (Ricky), Christy (Pat), Kellee (Osama) and Amanda, and 13 cherished great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Norma (Haven) George, son Billy George and grandson Brian Simon.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 8 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 174 Whisconier Rd, Brookfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk. His family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 8PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk.
